What is your favourite summer bloom?

My favourite summer bloom is the exquisite gardenia. It has the most divine scent, beautiful form and texture, and luscious glossy green leaves.

What is your favourite way to use gardenia?

I can’t help but suggest a stunning bouquet of intricately wired gardenia blooms to my summer brides. Beautifully structured and classic, the fragrance will forever remind them of their wedding day.

What tips do you have for taking care of cut gardenia stems?

Handle gardenia blooms with care as the delicate petals bruise easily. Avoid touching the flower by holding the stem only. Cut the end of the stem on an angle and plunge into cold water in a clean vase immediately. Typically, gardenia blooms will only last a few days before they begin to yellow but clean the vase and change the water every two days to increase longevity.

What are some other summer blooms you feel are particularly beautiful?

Fragrant bouvardia is a long-time favourite of mine, along with gorgeous David Austins and garden roses available in every colour imaginable. I also adore hydrangea in vibrant shades of blue, purple and pink, pastel tones and classic white or green. Incredible hydrangea stems as tall as me can often be spotted in store during the summer months!
