Felicity and Edwin’s whimsical and ethereal wedding day drew inspiration from the wedding of Bella and Edward of the Twilight series. From its romantic forest setting complete with horse-drawn cart, to the use of delicate and wispy botanicals, the celebration hosted at Avalon Castle on the outskirts of Melbourne was nothing short of enchanting.
The couple exchanged their vows under a kaleidoscope of colour on the venue’s Rose Terrace with a lush forest background. The ceremony arch was enhanced with an array of spring blooms in hues of rich red, varying pinks, peach, mauve, blue and green. The aisle was beautifully lined with continuous runners of florals to match leading Felicity to her husband-to-be. Three sweet flower girls led the way down the aisle, sprinkling rose petals from their baskets and wearing beautiful halos of blooms to match the theme.
Felicity sparkled in the Giselle gown by Lee Petra Grebenau which was rose gold in colour with delicate beading. Her bouquet was loose and naturally styled including roses, cymbidium orchids and waxflower, finished with cascading andromeda and phalaenopsis orchids, and wispy tendrils of jasmine. In contrast to the bride’s ethereal look, her bridesmaids wore elegant navy dresses, carrying posies of blooms to match. Felicity and Edwin’s wedding day would not be complete without their precious dog Savannah who, wearing a floral dog collar, joined them at their ceremony. It was here on the Rose Terrace, amidst the luscious trees and beautiful blooms, Felicity and Edwin shared their first dance as a married couple.
The reception was hosted inside the castle which was styled with the same romantic and enchanting theme. The dining tables were simply styled with bud vases of blooms interspersed with ambient candles, and crockery, cutlery and crystal glassware carefully selected by the couple. The three-tier cake was lovingly baked by Felicity’s father and decorated with blooming roses and jasmine. Overhead, an intricate display of cascading and trailing botanicals transformed the reception space into a dreamy fairytale.
In the words of Felicity: “The flowers were absolutely magnificent, and you exceeded our expectations. So many changes occurred on the day, but your team adapted efficiently and flawlessly, preserving the magical and whimsical vibe we had envisioned. Our venue staff noted that your flowers completely transformed the venue! Everyone marvelled at our flowers, and we thank you so much for creating incredible floral artistry – it was one of my favourite parts of the entire wedding.”
Thank you, Felicity and Edwin, for entrusting us to create your dream wedding. It was an honour and a privilege, and we know the magic will continue long after your fairytale wedding day.
