Taking place at Space 338, an industrial style venue in the inner-city suburb of North Melbourne, the venue set the scene for an eclectic and artistic evening. The venue itself played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall ambience. The industrial backdrop of exposed brickwork and pipes, concrete floors and moody lighting set the stage for a dramatic and unforgettable experience. Candlelight further accentuated the dark space, creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere for the celebration.

From the moment guests stepped into the venue, they were captivated by a breathtaking display of vibrantly hued flowers. The vast array of spring garden blooms included iris, cymbidium orchids, roses, disbuds, delphinium, canterbury bells and green goddess. Arrangements were further enhanced with spectacular branches of blossoming forsythia and tendrils of jasmine and fine fern cascading from a selection of urns. The vibrant mixed colours of deep red, blue, lime green, yellow, orange, purple and pink beautifully offset the industrial venue’s moody ambience.

An eclectic mix of furniture and props created a fascinating setting alongside the bright florals and dark space. Most eye-catching of all were a pair of taxidermy peacocks perched atop a wrought iron frame taking centre-stage. Other furnishings included intentionally mismatched chairs and footstools, antique lamps and tables, and a brass-framed freestanding mirror. The most intriguing props were the host’s framed photographs which included a selection of her own photography and old pictures of loved ones. These treasured pieces were displayed in an assortment of frames of mixed materials on tabletops and on freestanding easels for guests to peruse as they celebrated the occasion.
